JONES LOANED OUT FOR THE SEASON?

From The MEN:

"David Jones was the man of the match in most of the reserve games last season and he is proving a real talent.

"There are clubs up and down the country and in Europe who would love to take David on loan, like Kieran at West Bromwich.

"The manager will have to assess the players he has in Jones' position, and whether the young lad will get games at senior level this term.

"If he thinks he won't get the matches then it could be the best thing for David to go out on a six-month loan or something.

"He won't have any problems getting a club. He's a very good footballer and a very intelligent lad.

"If you don't think a young player is going to get regular first- team football here for the time being, yet he is ready for it, then the loan system is the correct way to go about it.

"Kieran Richardson's spell at West Brom was a huge success. He did himself proud and his family and United. Chris Eagles' loan at Watford was equally successful, though his wasn't as high profile.

"We don't just send them out without thought and planning. They only go to clubs where there is stability and where both ourselves and the player will benefit."
