Liechtenstein’s resident ‘hard-man’ has warned David Beckham
that he is out to kick him for 90 minutes when they meet on
Saturday.

Left-back Fredi Gigon, a primary school teacher, said:

"It is a massive challenge for me and all I can really do is
try to disturb him and kick him as much as possible. I will
do everything I can to make life as difficult as possible
for him. From the start right until the final whistle.

"Maybe he won't be used to playing against a hard player
who's always kicking him. Maybe he will find I am something
different. I want to make him remember the time he came to
Liechtenstein for the rest of his career. I am not a top
player but he will not forget me. I have got nothing to
lose. We may not be as good as England but we can tackle
hard."

Meanwhile Real Madrid are even more unlikely to bid for
Beckham now that vineyard owner and veteran defender Harry
Zech has said.

"I think he is overrated. He is over hyped by the media. I
think the real world-class players are Scholes, Gerrard and
Owen."
