From Ananova:

UEFA statement:

"The Uefa Champions League Group D match between Manchester United and Juventus at Old Trafford will definitely go ahead.

"Juventus requested a postponement after an outbreak of influenza in their squad left coach Marcello Lippi with a severely depleted squad at his disposal - Lilian Thuram became the latest player to succumb to the virus on Wednesday.

Lippi also confirmed three members of Juventus' youth team, defender Daniele Gastaldello and midfielders Matteo Paro and Ruben Olivera, were being flown in to bolster the squad.

Juve's request was turned down by Aigner after consultation with the Uefa delegate in Manchester and after medical evidence was delivered.

Aigner told www.uefa.com:

"After receiving the specialist advice from the Uefa doctor and as Juventus have now flown over further players, I am satisfied that they are in a position to field a suitable team to face Manchester United FC and we are not in the presence of a case of force majeure."
