KEANE – RUUD IS ALREADY A LEGEND

Keano speaking the MEN said:

"Ruud is in top form. Since he's come over in the last two
seasons he has been fantastic. To come over to England and
do what he has done in the Premiership, after the year he
had out with his cruciate knee ligament injury, has been
incredible.

"People questioned whether, in his second season, he would
be able to repeat his 36 goals of his debut term. But we all
had a laugh about that because we knew it wouldn't be a
bother to him. It says a lot about Ruud that when he misses
a chance everyone is stunned. He is all about goals and his
eyes light up when he sees the target.

"It is all very well Ruud scoring his goals but, as I have
said to him, it is about the team winning and he is well
aware of that and, first and foremost, Ruud is a team
player. But, of course, the goals he has got for us have
been fantastic and he deserves all the credit he is getting.

"I don't like to compare players. Ruud is a different type
of striker to others. I have been fortunate at United to
have played with some great strikers. I look back at Mark
Hughes, Eric Cantona, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke and Ole
Solskjaer and it is a great list. It is unfair to compare,
but Ruud is certainly up there."
