A GMP spokeswoman said: "Police in Trafford are investigating reports that a 16-year-old boy was assaulted on Saturday 4 September 2004. The incident occurred on Merrydale in Hale shortly after 5.30pm. Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing."

Chris alleges he was assaulted by Keane, 33, in a second incident as the star walked his dog in Hale, Cheshire.
Lyn added: "He asked Chris, ‘are you the guy who beeped me?’ Chris said ‘yes’. Keane grabbed him. Chris was shocked and broke a chain he was wearing on his neck."
