We reported on Friday that a player was under investigation by police and last night the police admitted to The Daily Star that Keane is the subject of an investigation.
Last night, a Greater Manchester police spokesman said: "Police in Trafford are investigating an alleged incident where a 16-year-old was assaulted on Saturday September 4, in Hale. Our inquiries are continuing."
