KEANO TO CALL ON ALFIE

The MEN report that Alf Inge Haaland could be a chief witness for Roy Keane in his upcoming hearing.

United skipper Roy Keane is sensationally hoping to enlist bitter rival Alfie Haaland to help him beat his Football Association disrepute charge. Keane is appealing against two FA charges of bringing the game into disrepute relating to an incident with Haaland last year. The FA revealed last week that the Reds midfielder has denied the allegations made against him.

If Haaland's evidence does end up helping Keane avoid a lengthy suspension it will be the supreme irony as the Norwegian international and Manchester City are still considering whether or not to sue the United man and his Old Trafford employers in a multi-million pound law suit. It is understood that Keane wants to use an article on Haaland's website to help him escape a possible protracted ban and heavy fine.

Haaland later ventured on his personal website that his subsequent injury problems were not the result of that tackle but he has since suffered problems that medical experts believe could have been an indirect result of the clash.

It will be argued that although the Norwegian's right leg took the full brunt of Keane's hideous challenge, the standing knee was also badly damaged by the impact. It has since needed three operations without cure.

Meanwhile Keano could be back in action for United soon.

Carlos Queiroz said, "We believe he will be back soon because the recovery process has been fantastic,"

"The way Roy Keane walks into the training ground you would hardly believe he is injured."

Fulham away on October 19 has been penciled in as apossible return date.
