Keegan said: "The fans pay their money and they have a right
to make whatever comments they wish. But as manager, it is
my job to point out that it is not very helpful for the
team.

"We all accept getting booed off at the end if we haven't
performed well, but not at half-time. Last season against
Arsenal, when we were 4-0 down, I started my half-time talk
by telling the players we have the only fans in the world
who wouldn't boo us off after a performance as bad as that
one was.

"I can't say that any more - but what I can say is that the
more successful this club becomes, the longer the fans have
to stay with us, no matter how frustrated they are. They
have always stuck with us in the past and I'm sure they will
do so again."
