KENYON AFTER FERGIE

From The Sunday Mirror:

"Alex might be 60 (he is 61) but he's not old. He feels strong and fit and despite what he's done he still wants to do more.

"We have all learned from what happened with Alex's last contract so it would be in everyone's interest to resolve a new one well within the current contract."

"What happens next must be what Alex wants as well, not just us, but I can honestly say he's as hungry now as he's ever been.

"That's a great testimony to him as a character and the success I think we'll have in the next few years.

"How long could he go on? It is all about hunger and all I can do is endorse that, in the five or six years I have been around, I see Alex as hungry as ever."
Kenyon said an announcement was imminent about the long-term strategies he and Ferguson had planned.

"The plans in place that we work on together are not just about the next three years. We have done some things we will announce soon that won't just be about the next two years," said Kenyon.

"In terms of youth development, things take longer than that. I think it is great for Manchester United that Alex is long range."
