A copy of the match video has been requested by the FA, who will study Keown`s apparent push in Ruud Van Nistelrooy`s face in an off-the-ball incident during Arsenal's 2-0 defeat.
In a statement released by Arsenal, the defender said: 'Ruud was standing on my foot so I just pushed him away with my hand in an attempt to free myself.
'It certainly wasn't malicious. My only intention was to get him off me.
'I have apologised to the boss for getting myself involved in that kind of situation but I have to say that I would be sorely disappointed if the FA take this matter further as I felt it was just a minor incident.'
