South Korea international midfielder Park Ji-Sung was handed the captaincy of Manchester United on Thursday for the Europa League last 32 second leg tie against Ajax.
The 30-year-old Park led out Sir Alex Ferguson's team at a packed Old Trafford where United were defending a 2-0 lead over the Dutch side from the first leg.
Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs, who would make his 900th appearance for United if he got on the pitch, was among the substitutes.
