'We can't go out and defend our 1-0 lead from Old Trafford. We have to attack, just like we did in the first leg,' said Paolo Maldini.
'Milan are better than United. If we both play to our maximum then Milan will win. There are United players with quality but I wouldn't change any of my players for anyone from United,' proclaimed Milan coach Ancelotti. 'The game will be decided in midfield and ours is better, we dominated the game at Old Trafford.'
Ancelotti was in charge at Juventus in 1999 and says that he has put the trauma of the night behind him:
'What happened at Juventus is long forgotten, I have nothing to prove and certainly nothing to be afraid of. This United team are better than the one from 1999 as they have younger players with more quality especially upfront. When van Nistelrooy returns to full form they are certainly stronger, especially with Rooney as well. The team of 1999 had more experience but this one has more quality.'
