Manchester United goalkeeper Lee Grant has signed a new one-year contract that will extend his stay at Old Trafford until the summer of 2022.

Grant joined as third choice goalkeeper on a free transfer after leaving Stoke in 2018 and has proven to be a valuable member of the training squad, even learning Spanish to converse with David de Gea and the now departed Sergio Romero.

“I was always very, very hopeful that I could extend my stay for another year and thankfully the club have allowed me to do that,” the 38-year-old told ManUtd.com.

“I'm really looking forward to the challenge of supporting the team, keeping myself going, as well as motivating others around me for another year.
