LEEDS ‘MAY' HAVE TO BREAK UP THE SQUAD

Maybe some slipped down the side of the sofa:

New Chairman John McKenzie said:

"I want to look at all the financial situations. But I would
say breaking up the squad would be a final resort.

"I'd like to see ways we can increase income and control
costs, but you can't build a fine football club without a
fine squad of players.

"I would like to restrict to a minimum the sale of players“

The Guardian quote Professor Bill Gerrard, a sports
consultant based at Leeds University Business School:

"The financial results are absolutely, truly appalling. They
are the worst set of interim results any British football
club has ever posted on the Stock Exchange. Leeds are very
much a selling club now and they will have to sell more of
their crown jewels in the summer just to stay afloat. You
don't have to be a genius to work out this club is
haemorrhaging cash at an extraordinary rate and, without any
substantial injection of capital, there's only one place
this club is going, and that's into administration.

"I think it could happen within eight to 12 months,
providing they stay in the Premier League. If they drop out
of the Premier League, administration would occur the next
day."
