From Venables’ column in the NOTW:
"Now I fear for the club and feel confused about what has gone on.
"Everyone knows Leeds sold £55m-worth of players and I'm worried they might be tempted to sell more. Unless the people in charge become sensitive to the football side of the operation again, I really don't know where it ends.
"They can't just keep chasing money, sell Jonathan Woodgate when they admit they don't need to, then turn around to everybody and say: ‘Now get on with it.' I don't understand their logic.
"I spent my life in football and I thought I had earned the right to have a point-of-view, to be listened to.
"I was never sure in what direction the club wanted to go. I didn't know whether we could buy, I didn't know if we were selling."
Other tabs say that El Tel is to sue Leeds for £3m (which they have not got).
Tremendous.
