LET THE FUN AND GAMES COMMENCE

"There were no pretensions about Middlesbrough and West Brom here previously this season and I don't think there will be from Bolton.

"I expect Bolton will be very much the same. They are going to come here and keep a tight shop. But we can deal with that. We've shown that against West Brom and Boro.

"We dug in really well against Middlesbrough because they are a difficult team to play against. Our record against them tells you that. It's always tight.

"We have to guard against the counter attacks they produced at Old Trafford last year.

"But we are ready for that. We are far better equipped to cope with it this term. Against Middlesbrough, for instance, it looked to me that we were a very difficult team to beat that night ourselves.

"It has been a steady start. We should have collected the six points away from home at Chelsea and Sunderland. In the context of a season sometimes that does happen. You win some games you don't particularly deserve to win and sometimes you lose or draw ones you should have won.

"But you hope by the end of a season that sort of things totals up into a winning season.

"We lacked a killer touch against Boro and at Sunderland too. The opportunities we had in those games we should have killed them off.

"But that will improve. We are never the best starters. Normally our goalscoring starts really well in October.

"What we are displaying, nevertheless, is a great resolve, a good team spirit and we are going to be very difficult to beat."
