LEVERKUSEN RIP OFF

IMUSA vice chair, Mick Meade said:

"United fans are being expected to pay for their tickets, more than double the price of what any other visiting supporter would. This appears to be clearly in breach of UEFA regulations, which dictate that supporters of visiting clubs should not be charged more by clubs than that of home supporters in comparable areas."

He added:

"Why should ordinary fans suffer because pricing structures vary from country to country? We are consulting UEFA with regards to this apparent breach"

IMUSA Press Officer Jules Spencer said:

"IMUSA understands that the reason for this may be in response to the price Leverkusen fans are being charged at Old Trafford, however we have consistently argued against this kind of petty tit for tat approach. The only people who pay the price are once again the travelling fan."

Red Issue understands that following IMUSA’s prompting United officials have raised the matter with Leverkusen with a view to obtaining a refund for travelling fans.

IMUSA have been campaigning for a number of years against the inflated prices Reds have to pay and secured a refund for fans kicked out of Sunderland last season.
