LIFE IMITATING ART

Remember the mag’s back page a few months ago about the world’s biggest fancy dress party? I’m sure there will be a few going as blue seats, from the MEN:

City fans will prove again that they have few peers when it comes to humour, enjoyment and community spirit when they bring the curtain down on a dismal Premiership season this Saturday.

The one thing the Blues supporters have not lost is their ability to laugh at adversity and enjoy themselves, and they have set out their stall to smash the British record for the biggest-ever fancy dress party in Britain - and at the same time raise tens of thousands of pounds for charity.

A few travelling fans warmed up for the Everton game by arriving in Middlesbrough on Saturday dressed as nuns, Elvis, and the Marx Brothers, and thousands are set to follow suit this weekend.

All City's many official supporters' clubs have been given the Blues' official blessing turn the final home game of the season into a fancy dress carnival.

The aim is to celebrate the first season in the palatial Eastlands stadium by setting a new best for fancy dress. They hope for 30,000, and to ask supporters to donate £1 to the scores of collectors.

All the money raised will go to a charity dedicated to relieve the suffering of those suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

And 50p from each programme will be donated to the Sport Relief charity.

There’ll certainly be a few clowns on the pitch.
