Alan Smith believes the range of attributes in United's strikeforce will eventually pay dividends.

Smith insists the variety of talent available to Sir Alex Ferguson will prove to be a significant asset.

"I think we have a good blend," Smith told the fishal site.

"Ruud's goalscoring record speaks for itself - everybody knows what he's about. Wayne can drop in and play behind one or two strikers. Louis has got fantastic pace, is great in the air and has an unbelievable left foot."

As for his own attributes, Smith says: "What I bring is holding the ball up, bringing other people into play and my finishing is all right.”
