LONG TERM PLANNING

From The Sunday Times:

"The way last season panned, with winning the Premiership title, has just fuelled his ambition even more," said Kenyon. "He is as good as you have seen him in the last five or six years. He is hungry.

"We have done some great things on youth, on alliances (with feeder clubs) and they were things we put on hold when we thought we might be getting a new manager, but now the fact we are bringing in 20-year-olds and 23-year-olds in the transfer market is about the longer term planning of Manchester United and that is when we are at our best."

"Certainly we won’t let Sir Alex’s contract tick down until the final few months. Whatever that means I am not ready to talk about now but we won't go through the pain of (letting Ferguson’s contract enter) the last 12 months. That is not healthy for anybody."
