From the MEN:

Kieran Richardson admits he is frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities. But the midfielder is determined to turn things around in the second half of the season.

“I want to play all the time as I love pulling on the red jersey. At the moment though it is hard to break into the side. Everyone has been playing out of their skins in every position.

“I am fighting for a place in the team but the most important thing is the manager picks the right side to win the game.”

Phil Bardsley, now on loan at Villa:

“I'm extremely excited at this move. It's a great chance for me to play in the Premier League and obviously get to work with a great manager like Martin O'Neill. I just can't wait to get started, meet the lads and start training.

“Hopefully I'll grab the chance with both hands. I've had glimpses of the Premier League at United, but I want to be playing regularly. It's quite frustrating when you're in and out of the side, so it's great to have an opportunity to come to Villa and get a chance to play in the Premiership again.

“As every young lad will tell you, you just want to play football and I'm no different. I just can't wait to get started. I want to help Villa back up the League. They need a boost, as the manager has been saying. Hopefully I can help the team get up the League and get in and around the European spots.

“I know quite a bit about Villa's young players from playing in the reserves in recent seasons. I've played against some good young players who are now established in the first-team. It will be nice to play with them and get to know them.”
