Real Madrid will offer David Beckham an escape route from Manchester United after targeting him as the new glamour boy of Spanish football.

Beckham's Old Trafford future is in doubt after his dressing room bust-up with Sir Alex Ferguson and the European champions are hoping to steal him away.

Club president Florentino Perez promised a Real Madrid board meeting that he will land the England captain within two years - and now his departure could be even quicker.

The Real Madrid supremo has kept all his promises so far and is supremely confident of landing Beckham - especially after this week's amazing events.
Perez wants Beckham to take over from Portuguese superstar Figo who is ready to quit Madrid after the 2004 European Championships when he will be 32.
