Man Utd add Cristiano Ronaldo's favourite foods to menu - including octopus

Manchester United have added some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s favourite foods to the menu in the player’s canteen this season, although some of his choices aren’t popular with the rest of the squad according to a report.

Ronaldo’s impact on the pitch has been plain to see for United, netting four times in his first three appearances since his return to the club 12 years after leaving for Real Madrid.

But his impact off the pitch has also been felt, with his dedication to fitness and his super healthy diet seemingly putting other players off eating dessert at mealtimes.

“We were sat down on our table for pre-match and straight away one of the lads said to me 'what has Cristiano got on his plate?',” United goalkeeper Lee Grant revealed earlier this month.

“Obviously it's the cleanest, most healthy plate you could imagine. I tell you now, not one player touched the apple crumble and custard, not one player went up for that brownie.”

The Sun now reports that some of Ronaldo’s Portuguese favourites have started to be served. That includes a traditional stew called bacalhau that is made with salt cod and eggs, as well as octopus.

However, it is said that most of the players won’t touch the octopus so far. Whether they get any braver as the weeks and months go by remains to be seen.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo is big on protein, so sliced ham, eggs and avocado are also high on his list of preferred foods to keep his body in the superhuman condition it has been in since his teens.
