Man Utd predicted lineup vs Barcelona - Europa League

Manchester United have lost each of their last four meetings with Barcelona stretching back to the 2009 Champions League final.

But Erik ten Hag's United travel to Camp Nou for the first leg of the Europa League knockout play-off this week full of confidence, hoping to get a result that will further their quest for trophies.

Ten Hag has already guided the club to one final and has his eye on more.

This is the starting XI the United boss could pick.

GK: David de Gea - United's longest serving player was an ever-present in the group stage.

RB: Diogo Dalot - Started both Premier League games against Leeds and appears to be the first choice right-back once more now that he is fit.

CB: Raphael Varane - Brings an enormous wealth of experience to the United side given how many times he has played against Barcelona in the past.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - Like Varane, he was rested from the start at the weekend but should return.

LB: Luke Shaw - Expected to be back on the left after filling in centrally at Elland Road.

CM: Casemiro - A welcome boost in midfield as his domestic suspension doesn't apply here.

CM: Fred - Has performed well when playing alongside Casemiro this season and could get the nod ahead of Marcel Sabitzer as a result.

RM: Jadon Sancho - Looks refreshed and rejuvenated since a lengthy break from action.

AM: Bruno Fernandes - Has captained United in all but one Europa League game this season.

LM: Marcus Rashford - Only Crystal Palace have stopped him getting at least a goal or assist in any game since the World Cup.

ST: Wout Weghorst - May not see a lot of the ball at Camp Nou but will be a vital presence to occupy defenders and create space for others to exploit.
