Man Utd predicted lineup vs Newcastle - Premier League

Manchester United return from a Covid-19 induced break with a trip to Newcastle in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Red Devils' last two games have been postponed due to an outbreak at the club, but will finally return to the pitch after a more than two-week absence.

In that time, Ralf Rangnick's side have lost ground to Arsenal and Tottenham in the race for a top four finish and need to start getting points on the board again.

United are unbeaten since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking in November but need to get momentum going again. Here's how they could line up at St James' Park.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

David de Gea (GK) - Been one of United's most reliable performers this season, looking back to his blush-sparing best.

Diogo Dalot (RB) - By virtue of providing at least something in attack, Dalot has quickly usurped Aaron Wan-Bissaka under Rangnick's tutelage.

Eric Bailly (CB) - With Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane doubts, AFCON-bound Bailly could start.

Harry Maguire (CB) - The club captain whether you like it or not.

Alex Telles (LB) - Has looked decent whenever he's featured this season and Rangnick has preferred the Brazilian to Luke Shaw so far.

2. Midfielders

Scott McTominay (DM) - His physicality and work ethic make him pretty hard to drop at the moment, particularly with Paul Pogba still out.

Fred (DM) - Been sensational in the last month or so, looking reborn again after Solskjaer's departure.

Jadon Sancho (AM) - Was starting to find his feet back in England just as United were hit by Covid trouble.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - United's creator-in-chief should have plenty of joy trying to open up one of the league's most porous defences.

3. Forwards

Marcus Rashford (ST) - Hasn't quite looked sharp this season despite finally undergoing shoulder surgery. Could do with a big performance here with Mason Greenwood breathing down his neck.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - His second United debut came in the reverse fixture earlier this season, inevitably bagging a brace. Someway behind in the race for the Golden Boot and could do with grabbing some goals here.
