Man Utd predicted lineup vs Tottenham - Premier League

Manchester United play host to third-placed Tottenham on Wednesday night after they were held by Newcastle at the weekend.

Erik ten Hag's side were frustrated by the resilient Magpies in a stalemate on Sunday, but United's stellar record against Spurs will give the Dutch boss hope of securing an important victory.

The Red Devils have won the last three meetings against the Lilywhites, while the visitors have won at Old Trafford just four times in the Premier League.

Here's the starting XI Ten Hag could deploy in a bid to down Antonio Conte's side.

GK: David De Gea - The Spaniard celebrated his 500th appearance for the club by keeping a clean sheet against Newcastle.

RB: Diogo Dalot - Dalot has arguably been the greatest beneficiary of Ten Hag's arrival. The Portuguese international has started all nine of United's Premier League games so far this season. Despite his enterprising nature, Dalot has just three goal contributions to his name in the English top-flight.

CB: Raphael Varane - Perhaps fortunate to not giveaway a penalty on Sunday, Varane will face up against Harry Kane for the fourth time in his club career. Kane is yet to score from open-play against a defence containing the Frenchman.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - The bullish Argentine helped United to their third Premier League clean sheet of the season against Newcastle. Martinez has been a hit thus far, but a major test awaits in the form of Spurs' frontline.

LB: Luke Shaw - The Euro 2020 superstar seems to have played his way into Erik ten Hag's plans. Shaw has started United's last two Premier League outings after Tyrell Malacia was hooked at half-time in the Manchester derby.

CM: Casemiro - Casemiro's start in Manchester was unconvincing, but the former Real Madrid star has shown signs of his very best form over the past couple of weeks. The Brazilian will likely be tasked with preventing the ball from arriving into Kane's feet on Wednesday.

CM: Scott McTominay - The Scottish international will return to the fold after he served his one-game suspension at the weekend. McTominay has starred against Spurs in the past, and he'll need to match the industry of 'Bentanberg' at Old Trafford.

RM: Antony - "I like to express my feelings, I’m a fighter and I give my all for the club," exclaimed the Brazilian ahead of the Newcastle stalemate. Antony has enjoyed a promising start to life at Old Trafford, and he'll be hoping for more success against a north London club on Wednesday.

AM: Bruno Fernandes - Despite Danny Murphy's suggestion that Fernandes should be dropped from the United XI amid a poor start to 2022/23, Christian Eriksen's fitness issues will likely see the Portuguese creator retain his place in the team.

LM: Jadon Sancho - Getting the best out of Sancho is proving to be no easy task for Ten Hag. The former Borussia Dortmund maestro has teased his majesty in a United shirt, but his final third production is a major concern.

ST: Marcus Rashford - Cristiano Ronaldo's last great performance arrived against Tottenham earlier this year, but Ten Hag will want to have Rashford ready from the get-go on Wednesday. The Englishman has scored four times against the Lilywhites in 11 Premier League outings.
