Man Utd Put Nemanja Matic and Marcos Rojo Up for Sale Ahead of January Window

Manchester United have put Nemanja Matic and Marcos Rojo up for sale and will listen to offers for the pair when the January transfer window opens.

Both players have struggled for minutes under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season. Matic has only started two league games in 2019/20, with his last appearance in the Premier League coming in the 2-0 defeat away to West Ham in September.

As for Rojo, he has started four times in the Europa League this campaign, but has only managed to start one league game.

As a result, their futures at the club have been called into question. The Times now report that United are ready to listen to offers for the pair when the winter window opens, with Solskjaer keen to continue his rebuilding process without the duo.

The report further mentions that Matic has attracted interest from two Premier League clubs, while Rojo's situation is being monitored by a number of Spanish and Italian sides.

A number of teams from around Europe, including Antonio Conte's Inter, have shown an interest in Matic, but I Nerazzurri may face competition from Atletico Madrid if they do make a move. 90min also understands that West Ham are also interested in the Serbian, as are AC Milan.

Rojo, meanwhile, came close to joining Everton in the summer, but the deal was called off at the last minute. Despite this, it was reported in November that the club had no intention of parting ways with the defender in January.

The Times, however, mention that Solskjaer wants to continue his rebuilding process by landing RB Salzburg forward Erling Haaland, while he is also keen to offload 'deadwood' such as Matic and Rojo.

Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, among other clubs, and the latest development on that ongoing saga stems from comments made by RB Leipzig's general manager Oliver Mintzlaff.

He's admitted that his side will struggle to compete financially with the likes of United, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, opening the door for Solskjaer to potentially nip in and seal a deal for his fellow countryman.
