Man Utd revive interest in Newcastle's Martin Dubravka

Manchester United have revived their interest in Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, 90min understands.

United are looking for a new number two to David De Gea, after allowing Dean Henderson to move on loan to Nottingham Forest for the season.

United have been linked after a host of names in recent weeks including Alex McCarthy, Kevin Trapp, Yann Sommer, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Daniel Bachmann and Giorgi Mamardashvili - but Dubravka has emerged as a viable target.

33-year-old Dubravka was considered by United in January when Newcastle made a move for Henderson, and now the Red Devils are back on the Slovakian's trail - after he lost his own starting job to summer signing Nick Pope.

Dubravka's agent Daniel Zik has admitted that his client is frustrated, although it remains to be seen whether a battle with De Gea is something he would like.

"He wants to play. Either in Newcastle or somewhere else. He doesn't just want to cover someone's back, but he clearly wants to be in goal," he said.

Zik also confirmed there was English interest when asked: "Yes, there are. But I really can't be more specific at this point."
