The Independent reports:

‘Bobby Gould, the former Wales manager, resigned as Peterborough's head coach during the half-time interval of their 1-0 LDV Vans Trophy defeat at Bristol City last night.

‘Barry Fry, Peterborough's manager, revealed that he had lost his right-hand man after Paul Heffernan's seventh-minute goal sent the visitors out of the competition. Fry said: "Bob told me at half-time that he didn't want to be associated with the team any longer, and that was it."’
