Despite Michael Carrick’s perfect start so far as interim boss, Manchester United have reportedly reached out to Niko Kovac regarding the permanent manager position.
Kovac, currently at Borussia Dortmund, is reportedly open to a Premier League move.
While Thomas Tuchel and Roberto De Zerbi remain on the shortlist, Kovac’s pragmatic style is said to be well-received by United’s recruitment director Christopher Vivell.
Carrick remains in charge until May, but a top-four finish would make him a heavy favourite to keep the job full-time.
