Marcus Rashford Major Injury Doubt for Liverpool Clash After Limping Off During FA Cup Game

Bad news Manchester United fans:

Marcus Rashford is now a doubt for this weekend's Premier League meeting with Liverpool.

And he is a 'doubt', because after coming on in the 63rd minute of Manchester United's FA Cup third round replay win over Wolves at Old Trafford, he was then taken off due to an apparent back injury just 15 minutes later.

The 22-year-old attempted to carry on after initially going to ground and receiving treatment for the issue, but was then later taken off.

In being taken off, he becomes - yes, it's Opta stats time - "Marcus Rashford is the first Manchester United player to both come on as a substitute before then being substituted himself in the same FA Cup match since Alan Smith against Liverpool in February 2006. Concern"

Concern is right Opta Joe, as his substitution means that the forward is now a doubt for the derby meeting with Liverpool on Sunday.

Manchester United, with Rashford in fine fettle, were became the only team to date to take points off Liverpool in the Premier League this season (with the Reds winning literally every other game...crazy, I know), but without their star man, doing the same this week seems rather unlikely.

We do not, as of yet, know the full extent of the injury, but judging by the fact that the England international hobbled off the pitch like an 85-year-old man, things aren't looking good..
