MARSEILLE UNHAPPY WITH FIFA

Unhappy at not being able to sing Barthez until January 1st,
Marseille’s President Christophe Bouchet had this to say on
the club website:

"We are not surprised at the outcome of this appeal. I also
think that Fifa are against football's interests in general.

"They go against the club's interests, which is their code
of conduct since they don't seem to like clubs. But they
also act against the player's interest, in this case Fabien
Barthez, since he cannot play.

"The most interesting thing is that Fifa actually go against
their own way of thinking. Fifa want to reduce schedules,
the number of players and costs."
Makes David Gill’s ‘outburst’ seem a little tame!
