Wayne:
"They were negative and didn't want to play.
"It spoilt the game. We were getting frustrated and bored as a team because it was just like a training session. They just came here to be negative. I didn't really enjoy playing tonight, but we're delighted we're through and maybe we can rest a few players in the next few games to make sure we're all right for the later stages."
Ferguson:
"The great thing about this team is that they are always capable of creating chances, either through individual ability or good combination play.
"There is never a moment in any game when you feel that we have reached a dead end in terms of imagination and creativity. We have so many players capable of a moment of brilliance. It doesn't matter whether the opposition is playing three at the back or 20 at the back.
"We experimented last season and nearly got embarrassed but we won't do that again. If we win against Sporting Lisbon in our next game, that will do it.
He said he understood what Rooney had meant by feeling 'bored'
"Sometimes, when the other team is organised in defence and you are playing in a position of comfort, having almost qualified already, it can be difficult, and quite tedious, trying to break them down. Kiev came with a plan to make sure they weren't embarrassed. They played with three centre-backs and for the first 20 minutes we didn't make any openings, even though we were passing the ball quite quickly.
"It took us time to open them up and we needed the break of the opening goal. After that I felt much more comfortable. The second goal was a great piece of skill from Tevez and in the second half we could have scored even more goals. We created some good chances and I'm happy because 4-0 is a very good score."
Dynamo Kiev coach Oleg Luzhny:
"We had no discipline and no organisation. We have too many older players in our squad at present and obviously, we need to do better.
"With regards to the general play there was not enough discipline and organisation from us. That said, we should have scored but failed to find the net. There were injuries during yesterday's training session that forced me to play some of the older players but from my point of view those that came in played very well. This is not the end for us as we still have to play games at home to Roma and away to Sporting. We will try our best in those games and see how it goes."
