MAYBE A NEW DEFENDER AFTER ALL

The Telegraph reports that we may swap Diego Forlan for
Boro’s Gareth Southgate when the transfer window opens in
January. Forlan of course turned Boro down to sign for
United two years ago; Southgate was apparently desperate to
join United last summer when we were interested in him but
Boro wouldn’t allow him to move.
Marseille have confirmed that they have had bids for Daniel
van Buyten. Chairman Christophe Bouchet said yesterday:
"We have offers from England and Italy for van Buyten. I
won't say who the clubs are but, for the moment, we don't
have the intention to sell Daniel."
