MEANWHILE, 30 MILES FROM GREATNESS

Hoolahoop: "This game is special, and our only regret is that it comes so soon after a very demanding game in Bucharest.

"But it was a good performance, and maybe the mental strength the players showed in the European game will help them face Manchester United."

Jerzy Doodaa: "I know Forlan might be playing again, and he has scored recently but that does not come into it."

"No one needs to remind me about last year - but after the Worthington Cup final in March I have taken only good memories of Manchester United.

"This season when I came back into the side I felt stronger, the break gave me a little bit more freshness. I was ready.

"I had a good pre-season, and I have been very happy after that. I feel all right now, it is just a case of keeping going."

Kewell (he doesn't mean this either): "The title race is not cut and dried just yet. We may still have a say in things.

"We are getting things together slowly and there's a lot more to come from us. Just wait and see.

"We CAN compete with them but it's all about how we do on the day.

"We should have won at least three more matches but didn't. It's still early days in the season and there have been a few clubs who have won titles from our present position, so we'll see what happens."
