MEXES - LEGAL ACTION THREATENED?

Last updated : 18 June 2004 By editor

Auxerre coach Guy Roux revealed earlier this week that United had made an offer of around £9.9million for the 22-year-old but Mexes' agent Olivier Jouanneaux said: "We have met Franco Baldini (Roma sporting director) and a four-year contract has been agreed between Mexes and Roma."

Now claims are being made that Baldini is threatening possible legal action against Auxerre whilst Auxerre are demanding that Roma pay the €15 million offered by United.

Roma say that they are only willing to pay €8 million and have reportedly already agreed terms with the player.

"Manchester made a really big offer, but the player and his agent refused," explained Baldini.

"They were fearing that in England he wouldn't have played with regularity."

Would it be fair to ask how much Roma are paying Mexes' agent Olivier Jouanneaux?
