"No-one has come up to me this summer and said `what a good season you had last year' even though we won the FA Cup. For Manchester United, it just wasn't good enough but that doesn't mean we have to feel inferior to Arsenal.
"We drew twice with them in the league last season, beat them in the Community Shield and again in the FA Cup.
"What we didn't do was maintain that level of performance against everyone else and that is where I think Carlos will be a help.
"He makes us work really hard and will make sure we have the consistency that we lacked last season."
