MICKEY OUT; O’SHEA IN

Last updated : 24 February 2003 By editor

"We actually will have a struggle to get the boy [Silvestre] ready for the Worthington Cup final next Sunday but in saying that O'Shea came on against Juventus on Wednesday and it was like somebody opening another door with his approach to the game.

"It was like 'give me the ball I want to play', up and down that touchline - he was fantastic. Young players do that, they show no fear. I made that point about Ajax last Tuesday night when they played Arsenal. They had eight players under 22 years of age and they all wanted the ball to show they could play. So long as they have got the ability young people can do that."

Meanwhile Mickey himself is still hopeful of facing the dirties: "I really hope I can play in the Worthington Cup final against Liverpool next Saturday. I am going for a scan on Monday," he told ManUtd.com.
