MIND GAMES

Arsène Wenger last night warned the Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho of the psychological pressures his side will face as Premiership leaders.

"There is no easy way to [win the title] from my experience," he said.

"The only thing I know from experience is that many teams have been in front in January and not won the championship. Five points is not a lot with 17 games to go. When you are in front you can only lose it, as everyone says you have won it already. So you have to face that prospect, that you can lose it."

Fergie added:
“Chelsea have been carrying a bit of luck. They survived two penalty kick claims at Liverpool the other day. When you are at the top you get those kind of breaks. They have also not suffered the injuries like ourselves and Arsenal have. But over a season these kind of things tend to even themselves out.”
