MORE KEEPER INTEREST

Stoke's young goalkeeper Ben Foster says that he may be moving to United. He was on loan at Wrexham last season and apparently caught the eye of Darren Ferguson (we can only hope he's got a better eye than his uncle) who in turn told Sir Alex Ferguson. Foster said:

'As far as I know there's a meeting going on today with John Rudge and the people at the Manchester United, so we'll have to see what comes from that,' Foster said.

'My agent and John have been keeping me informed with the latest news and I've been in the club everyday trying to find out as much information as possible.

'Ever since I heard of their interest I've been on tenterhooks and had a few sleepless nights.

'It's a massive, massive club and a massive chance for me.

'I think if the opportunity to sign for United does come along then it's too good a chance to turn down for myself and for the club.

'Hopefully the two clubs can get something sorted out now.'

While Rudge himself said: "Manchester United have shown interest in Ben after Alex watched him play for Wrexham in the LDV Vans Trophy final last season.

"Obviously they've just signed Edwin van der Sar and they've also got Tim Howard at the club and we'll have to see if any progress will be made in the coming weeks."
