The deal involves a hook up with a media marketing company, which promises to 'enhance the match day experience by showing a mix of pre-kick-off programming, live match feed and half-time highlights, as well as live news, data, scores and statistics.'

The screens will be located in the stadium's corporate suites, bars, concourse and kiosk areas. The system will be available from January 2005.

Ben Hatton, director of commercial enterprises for Manchester United is confident that the deal will benefit fans, "Our partnership with MDM-TV will significantly enhance supporter experience at the ground while creating a relevant and exciting up to the minute information stream".

Gary McKenna, managing director and originator of the MDM-TV concept has plans to develop the scheme even further, "For 2005 we are working on a series of interactive service extensions that will allow fans to influence the match day TV schedules in their respective stadia, and input comment and images via their mobile handsets."
