MORE OPINIONS ON THE BOOT

Martin O'Neill:

"Alex Ferguson doesn't need my sympathy. In this day and age there seem to
be more leaks than ever. There will be these type of incidents again and again
up and down the country on a Saturday, Sunday and a Monday. Things seem
to leak out at Manchester United, but things are inclined to get a much higher
profile there."

Lippi:

"I have kicked bottles of mineral water and buckets and it's just by chance I
have never hit any people.

"It's a question of technique and Scots must have a finer touch. But I think
Alex Ferguson is a beautiful person and a very fine coach."

Big Ron joins in:

"I certainly agree with Alex, he couldn't have done it if he had meant it, I mean
Pele couldn't have done it - and Pele was a better player than Alex.

"There is all sorts of things that go on at different times in dressing rooms, it
can be a fiery, passionate place, there can be big arguments. Obviously
what's happened there is a complete freak, it really is, I've never heard or
seen anything like that before. They'd just lost a key cup tie against their arch-
rivals and there is no love lost between Arsenal and Manchester United and
so he was going to blow his top."
