MORE RIO BULLSH!T

Rio comes up with another person to thank for helping him through his hour of
need.

"I have a lot to thank Mr Eriksson for," Ferdinand told The Sun. "The FA wanted
to ban me, but the coach put his neck on the line by offering support.

"He rang me many times to encourage me during the days when I could not see any light at the end of the tunnel.

"And when my case came up, he sent a letter to the tribunal to help my defence.

"It cannot have been easy for him because there must have been a lot of
pressure on him to stay out of it.

"No one else at The FA contacted me, but he had no hesitation in doing so. Mr
Eriksson has always backed his players and I could not have wished for better
support.

"He could have sat on the fence and washed his hands of the situation, but he
didn't. It is things like that which show why the players are so loyal to him.

"Now I intend to repay him for his faith and I'll do the same for Sir Alex
(Ferguson). I let them down by missing that test, but they never deserted me."
