"He's trained all week and had no issues at all," United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports.
"This morning he woke up with another spasm. So it's a big, big problem for us.
"This has been going on for a while now. So we're sending him to a specialist tomorrow (Monday) to do another scan.
"We're going to have to try and get to the bottom of it because it's a disappointment, particularly in him missing such a big game."
