Sir Alex explains how he may get some money for transfers
"It will always be about Manchester United looking to improve their team," he told Sky Sports News. "And what happens here, the natural foundation it gives the club, can only help the club as a whole.
"But for me, it is always about how it can improve the team. We can look at that factor now and ask David (Gill) or the Glazer family. Say (to them) this is the player we'd like and then we can assess how much it will cost. Nothing changes in that respect.
"I think it's fantastic financial progress for the club."
Gill feels obliged to explain how big the company are as well as having to tell everyone what it is they do.
"They are one of the largest five businesses in the world. Basically they're a very large financial services company. I think we can really use their network to help develop our own business," he enthused.
"It's a great day for Manchester United, not just the employees but the players and fans around the world. It's a record deal. It's brilliant."
"I think AIG is the right company for Manchester United. The money has to be right, let's not beat about the bush. £56.5 million over four years is a marvellous deal if you compare it to Vodafone paying us £9 million a year,"
"We were selling the name on our shirt for only the third time, not only for today but for tomorrow and many years to come.
