MORE TALES OF WOE FROM OLD TRAFFORD

United have now announced that the loyalty pot ticket allocation system has been suspended for the Bolton away fixture. This is believed to have occurred following a suggestion from the ludicrous fans forum (does anyone know anyone who is represented on that?) from which the only elected representatives – IMUSA’s and SU’s – were turfed following Glazer’s takeover.

The obvious result of this is loyal supporters missing out on tickets, with the club believed to be suggesting it is a test case to see if incidences of that vile crime standing are reduced. That Bolton should be the game picked is surely no coincidence – last season with the good views at the Reebok United fans were largely seated throughout – which will no doubt lead the club to the conclusion they want. Ie. that it’s sensible to do away with the loyalty pot.

The whole thing is very murky. The suspension only became clear after applications were accepted, therefore all loyalty potters could easily be rejected wholesale. Furthermore, the inevitable scrapping of the loyalty pot for next season wouldn’t have *anything* to do with the increase in exec seating, all of whom are entitled to apply for aways would it? Less loyalty potters = more away tickets available to execs = more attractive exec packages = more Glazer revenue.
