NEDVED & GERRARD & ROONEY

Nedved says he has turned down a move to Chelsea.

Chelsea have been tracking Nedved for some time and the 31-year-old admitted he could have made more money at Chelsea, but that he was planning to end his career in Turin.

"I have another two years on my contract with Juventus and I have no intention to leave," said Nedved. "To stay in Turin I refused €7 million net from Chelsea."

Sky Sports reckon that £66 million is the price it would cost Chelsea (or anyone else for that matter) to bag Steven Gerrard. The price is conveniently close to the money offered by the Thai Prime Minister for a major slice of the club.

Hardly surprising to hear Everton Chief Executive Trevor Birch say that the club is keen to resolve Rooney's long-term future.

"We have always made clear our desire to see Wayne Rooney commit his long-term future to this football club and, to that end, we would be happy to open talks with the player and his representatives about a new contract at any point - indeed, we are anxious to do just that," Birch told the Everton website.
