"I had a three-hour talk with him. Until now I have heard nothing, but as time goes by my chances become slimmer," Jol told Dutch TV show Studio Sport.

"But if I get the chance to go to Manchester it would be a very interesting job.

"I don't want to say anything about this Manchester United deal, because I have a rule with Ferguson that I'll not say anything,"

Jol is the coach of Dutch team RKC Waalwijk.

RKC's president Marcel Brands, indicated that the club would not stand in the way of Jol should United move for him if a suitable compensation deal can be agreed.

"I'm surprised by what Jol said on Dutch TV about Manchester.

"I thought it was all over, not still going on.

"It is a bit of a nuisance for us, but it's a great opportunity for him, and we could get some money for Jol."
