NO EXCUSES FROM PHIL NEV

"You have to forget the players who are injured.

"Injuries are part and parcel of football. We will have more of them before the end of the season and they are not something we are going to use as an excuse.

"The players the manager has been putting out have been good enough to win the games and we have probably not performed as well as we should have done."

"When you don't win the league, you do lose some invincibility and because Arsenal won the title the way they did last season, teams probably fear them more than they do us.

"I am sure there are a lot of teams who do not enjoy playing against Manchester United but it is up to us to raise the level of our game to make sure every team fears playing us, rather than just one or two."

"There is no point sitting around sulking. It is up to me to force my way into the manager's plans and ultimately into his team.

"I am trying to look at everything in a positive manner and after being flown out for the tour without much training, the last two weeks have given me the chance to catch up a little but and now I feel fresh and ready.

"I will carry on preparing properly and if I get an opportunity I must make sure I take it.

"If I don't, I won't have anyone to blame other than myself."
