No Panic Buying

The United boss currently has nine of his regular first team squad players on the treatment table but he has ruled out the idea of bringing in players to the club just to cover for injured players.

"I won't be doing that," Fergie has said.

"I do have options.

"Hopefully Gary Neville will be OK, then I can play Darren Fletcher at right-back, so with Nemanja Vidic and John O'Shea we would have an experienced back four.

"At the moment we have got a lot of injuries that will affect us for the next three matches.

"At this time of year players often carry little strains, which eventually become injuries that force them to miss games.

"That is why managers for years have pursued the hope that there will be a winter break. Unfortunately, it is not to be."
